County Louth is known as the " wee county" as it is the smallest county in Ireland.
It is said that County Louth takes its name from Lugh the celtic sun god and the father of Cuchulainn, the celtic warrior.
It is bordered on the south by the river Boyne and to the north by the Cooley mountains.
Although it might be small in size , County Louth has always been an important region throughout history. From the saga of An Tain , King Johns castle in picturesque Carlingford Louth to Drogheda`s historic past, Louth has had a profound influence on the history of Ireland.
This crest is designed and cold cast in brass in studio and mounted onto a slate wall plaque 125mm x 125mm in size.
This wall plaque makes a perfect gift for anyone who has Louth ancestry.
